A study in light and shadow. This piece began with a colour reference and was reimagined entirely in monochrome; an exercise in contrast, depth, and the quiet power of a face that needs no colour to hold your attention.

The technical challenge of capturing likeness in black and white alone is one of the things that draws me back to portraiture again and again.
