My name is Lauren. I picked up a crayon at two or three years old and never stopped creating.
I didn't go to art school or follow a traditional path. I just kept making things — out of love, out of curiosity, out of something I couldn't quite explain. Over the years that grew into a practice that moves across oil, watercolour, acrylic, charcoal, and mixed media, following wherever the work leads.
I am self-taught, but more than anything I believe I am gifted. Not in a way I can take credit for, this came from God, and I hold it with open hands. Every piece I make is my way of saying thank you for it.
My hope is that my work makes you feel something. Not a specific something, just that quiet shift that happens when a piece of art reaches you somewhere words can't. If you walk away from one of my paintings carrying a feeling you didn't have before, even just for a moment, then it has done exactly what it was meant to do.
Created to create.
